Attracts the Dulag
Since starting my travel blog, My dream is to see many different places. Visiting popular tourist destinations is undoubtedly something to cross off your bucket list. This blog will serve as a venue for me to discuss with my readers the things I have discovered and ideas I have about this location when traveling or simply exploring on my own. But this is all about my home town and why people attracts the Dulag.
1ST ENTRY
THE DULAG FESTIVAL
The first on the list that attracts in dulag is the Karatong Festival, it's a dance revelry that depicts the legend of the karatong, which is a bamboo device used in the 16th century to informing the townspeople of incoming Moro marauders. Dulagnon” or the people of Dulag communicate using a bamboo or “karatong” in ancient times. It is intended to alert people to approaching danger and to keep outsiders out of the town. The miracle Nuestra Seora del Refugio inspired the locals to climb to the top of the karatong to save the town of Dulag when Moro invaders destroyed it in order to get the Golden Bell. One of Leyte's more ancient and historic municipalities is Dulag. It is located on Leyte's eastern shore, facing both the Pacific Ocean and the old Leyte Gulf.
A wide range of activities, such as nighttime activities, socio-cultural performances, an agri-and-agro product fair, and sporting events, to name a few, are scheduled for the town fiesta known as "Araw ng Dulag" on August 20. One of the highlights of the yearly fiesta celebrated in the town of Dulag on the 7th and 8th of September is the Karatong Festival.
Competent amateurs, professionals, and local choreographers make up the festival's dancers. The Karatong Festival has participated in a number of festivals both locally and nationally, including the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festivals of Festivals in the province of Leyte, the Sinulog Festival in Cebu City, and the Aliwan Festival in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
Due to its regal atmosphere and magnificent sights, Dulag has several lovely tourist attractions that may be visited. Additionally, it significantly contributes to the productivity of the Dulag economy.
Skim Boarding Camp
It is situated near the Maharlika Highay in San Jose Dulag, Leyte. Additionally, It was a project by the
former DENR Sec Gina Lopez with ABS-CBN LINGKOD KAPAMILYA. They provide you with fresh foods and fruits at this camp, and they also have a skim boarding lesson for beginners. This project help a lot of people in dulag after the trajedy of super typhoon Yolanda.
Sabang Surf Camp
It is located in Brgy. Sabang Daguitan Dulag, Leyte. It was a project by the former DENR Sec. Gina Lopez with ABS-CBN LINGKOD KAPAMILYA given to Dulagnons in order to retrieve their loss after the Super Typhoon Yolanda. Beginner surfing and skim boarding training are available at this camp. Additionally, it provides lodging options and wholesome food from the garden to the table. Da-o Balay Kawilan, a local site, offers activities including kayaking at the lagoon, fishing along the boardwalk, and 'Hilot,' or traditional massage, in the floating cottages.

HISTORICAL LANDMARKS
THE RUINS
It is a church before the Japanese bombard it during the Worl War II. It is located at Sungi Dulag, Leyte. This structure is originally build by the Spanish in 1595 and consider as the first exclusive Jesuit school in province of Leyte, and opened as a religious school. It's destroy by world war ll in October 1944 when the American liberation force led by General Douglas Macarthur in Dulag, and used the American force as it's 60th field hospital. Now it is conside as a historical and heritage for generation to come not only in Dulag but also in Leyte.
Hill 120
Is found in Brgy. San Rafael Dulag, Leyte. The first American flag was unfurled by the U.S. Liberation Forces on what is known as Catmon Hill. Army on October 20, 1944, following Bataan's fall. This area also has the battlegrounds from the Leyte Valley. There is a large helmet shape at the top and landscaped garden with tropical flowers and shrubs, benches, concrete tables with canopies, restrooms, and an open-air stage where memorial programs are held are all available. You can also get a panoramic view of the Leyte Gulf and the nearby coastal towns.
Dulagnons are renowned for having a strong and courageous spirit because, despite the many difficulties we have faced, we have always been willing to find solutions and to grin while doing so. One of the difficult times we went through was when Super Typhoon Yolanda hit. At that time, a lot of us experienced hunger, cold, and some of us lost our homes. I can say, however, that we truly helped one another in order to survive. Before I end my blog I just want to share my thoughts and feelings about how much I am proud of. I do not know how can I exactly express my feelings but I am proud and thankful that God give me a hometown that is full of love and wonderful things.
